I find these particular types of Chieftains rather interesting. I remember hearing theories that these guys were the Gray Guard, Escharum’s personal guards from Shadows of Reach. I can DEFINITELY see that. Maybe they’re sent by the War Chief to protect key areas on Zeta Halo.

Escharum feels like he'll always be a timeless villian. No matter where Halo goes in the future or what other enemies we fight, Escharum will always be special. There isnt another Halo enemy like him, and imo, i dont think there ever will be

I really think "The Harbinger" that Escharum mentions might actually be the Didact. Being composed isn't the end of someone's life, so I think it's very likely he'll be back at some point anyway.
