A cheeky little Late #BronzeAge /Early #IronAge razor for this week's #FindsFriday, which always make me smile for some reason! This beauty was found in in a cremation burial together with one fragment of a bronze #sword, in a #barrow at Basse-Wavre, #Belgium.
EXCITING FIND ALERT! This broken object is actually a fragment of a late Bronze Age spearhead. While concentric ring decoration is known on such objects this may be the first recorded with gilded rings. #FindsFriday #BronzeAge #Spear #Ashley https://t.co/L0yRroIg4I
Today's #FindsFriday is a beautiful Mary I Penny! What a good find! Thank you to Kevin of #ThePembrokeshireProspectors #SavingTreasuresTellingStories #PortableAntiquitiesScheme
It is #FindsFriday and we have these #Roman hoop tongs found at #Trimontium. They would have been used by a blacksmith sometime between 80-100AD for making & attaching the iron tyres which run round the circumference of wooden spoked wheels like this one, also found at Trimontium
This is a bodkin. It is traditionally a tool used in the lace and cloth industry, but would often be worn as a hairpin by Dutch settlers in Colchester in the 1600s. It was found by a metal detectorist in Purleigh, Essex. Can you spot the initials engraved on it? #FindsFriday
#Roman Villa Romana Del Casale, Piazza Armerina, #Sicily
Villa built over 50 years from late 3rd C - early 4th C C.E.
A successful boar hunt, one of the hunting scenes surrounding a banquet, in this giant mosaic.
A dynamic scene, look at the clothing details.

It’s #FindsFriday so of course I’ll share with you one of my favourite #Adorn objects. The stunning torc on loan from @NorfolkMuseums shows how @ColMuseums very own #WoodhamWalter hoard was intended to look. #BronzeAge #Gold
Wow! #InternationalLionDay perfect timing for this almost #FindsFriday object - he's lovely but he's been a bit tricky to date. https://t.co/IQfNaYOCj2 Sadly not from #Wales but from beautiful #Shropshire #Responsibledetecting #Recordyourfinds @findsorguk
This week's #Findsfriday has Mercury winging his way. Although he may look roman, he is the top of a pipe tamper of Post medieval date. #recordyourfinds #smokin #responsibledetecting
The knob from an AD 6th-century cruciform brooch for #FibulaFriday, from South Cave in the East Riding, recorded by @findsorguk last week. Look at this little guy with his big eyes and fancy moustache tipped with bird heads. What a knob.

Today's #FindsFriday is inspired by my new obsession #ExcitableEdgar (thanks @jlandpartners) so here is a beautiful Roman dragonesque brooch from #EastYorkshire recorded @findsorguk #RecordYourFinds #Edgar #ResponsibleDetecting #EdgarTheDragon https://t.co/Na37KZtdgF
A seasonal #FindsFriday in the form of a (Christmassy) Medieval angel-shaped mount, perhaps from a mazer, crucifix or other bit of liturgical bling (https://t.co/qu5BsrRo39) #Recordyourfinds
It's not everyday we record a human toe, so I give you a solid lead, lifesize, toe/thumb/finger fragment. We wish it was Roman, but findspot & nearby finds make Post Medieval garden ornament or statue more likely. 👍🦶

What's this for #FindsFriday ...? It's a HIPPOSANDAL! 🦛 👡 no ... a #Roman iron horseshoe which was tied on, rather than nailed to the hoof. This one, surprisingly well preserved, was found in Yorkshire and recorded @findsorguk with @SWYOR_FLO: here https://t.co/nH5m8V75wg
