William probably used Fredbear because it was likely connected to the coreography system that controls the animatronics.

Just how Springbonnie is connected to the twisted.

Making the originals go crazy as distraction.

Something i find interesting in the Novel Trilogy of is Michael Brooks death.

He's not only the first victim of the MCI (according to Clay who says he was the first murdering case he handled) but William used Fredbear instead of Springbonnie.
