Even in her last years, Frida would dress up in her finest, lie in her bed and paint. She said,” I am not sick. I am broken. But I am happy to be alive as long as I can paint.”

Spent the afternoon reading about and taking a virtual tour of Frida’s childhood home in Mexico City that now houses the Frida Kahlo Museum. Can’t wait to visit it in person someday.

July being her birth month of Frida Kahlo, I’ve planned to go on a month-long immersion into her life and work. I’ve not completely figured out what the outcome of this will be but I’m sure it will be great fun.
