this is not to say that World/Iceborne didn’t have great designs either. It’s just I feel that a lot of the early/mid game fights felt just “ok” to me (especially Jag, Girros and Dodo). Even Tobi, Pukei and Kulu, as fun as they are, just aren’t as cool to me as Rise’s early mons

And even if Great Jagras just looks like an obese iguana and is all-round nothing, Great Girros at least stood out compared to it as a more agile quadrupedal viper with paralysis and even some slithering. And Dodogoma's the least irritating bottom-tier volcano monster.
