After I finish the plate of sloths that went extinct in the last 17,000 years I would like to finish this plate of Cingulata (armadillos, glyptodonts and relatives) that went extinct in the last 17,000 years in the Americas. At least 25 species!

The doedicurus/glyptodont, Sandshrew ancestor Macedontus can partially bury itself in the ground, allowing it and its tuff hide to protect itself from attackers... at the cost of speed of course. Its armor is said to have inspired the design of many helmets throughout history.

Ankylosaurs were dinosaurs, and glyptodonts were mammals, but both had tail clubs - a great example of convergent evolution!
