I know I’m sort of a broken record when it comes to this but the design work for the Gotengo is absolutely STUNNING.
Let’s give some massive credit to the incredible Shigeru Komatsuzaki. He would design the Gotengo and Mecha for the Thunderbirds. After Atragon, the Gotengo would go through multiple incarnations featuring different designs and names. It is a debate if the Gohten and Ra are indeed incarnations of the Gotengo but due to the Godzilla museum and Eiji Tsuburaya museum saying that they are I will do the same.
The Gotengo influencing these works would end up being a huge deal. Tsuburaya himself considered Mighty Jack his masterpiece with the logo of the ship now being the official logo of Tsuburaya. Anno and Higuchi are also huge fans with Hideaki Anno even naming his cat Mighty Jack.
