This is pretty typical of how I'd piece together refs for something where I can't do the whole pose in one photo. There was a lot of precarious standing on couch armrests involved. I relied on a mirror for the face. 1/2

Basically set up the lighting for this idea in that series, used a dif portrait photo for the face ref. And a multitude of shark, eel and octopus refs to crudely make those up in photoshop.
