I’m west African and iansan is based off a deity from my culture so natlan isnt just meso america. It’s west Africa + Spain + Latin America like sumeru is South Asia, west Asia and North America

-Bennett: Se teoriza que fue encontrado en Mare Jivari, lugar que parece ser una subarea de Natlan, y además su parecido con Iansan sugiere que podría ser familiar de ella, por tanto, Bennett podría haber nacido en Natlan

because of iansan, her name is from a goddess of african origin who is very popular in latin america but mainly in brazil

the only thing i know about natlan is that it will probably be inspired by latin america and africa, the name of the only natlan character we know is literally iansan

//Not Lisa

Have Natlan’s travail, Iansan! She was very fun but a bit hard to turn into the profile look considering the angle/colors, and I couldn’t decide if geo or pyro so have both!
(I also realized she’ll be our third five star chibi lmao)

I really hope Iansan from Natlan will be like heizhou, destroying enemies with fist and kicks. an actual dps.

As others have said it's due to them being based on a pre-existing character. In addition all types of skin tones exist everywhere. I wouldn't worry though. Genshin has show intention to have darker skin tones. Look at Cyno (from sumeru) and Iansan. Have patience! :D
