📸 Another great photo of early floodlights at Ibrox, this time on the Main Stand.

The photo was on the front cover of a match program for a friendly v Arsenal in 1955.

We had a ‘closed door’ 🔵 v ⚪️ trial match of new lights in October 1952, good chance the 📸 came from that.

📸 A look down & up at Stairway 19 at Ibrox, where the Archie Leitch designed wrought iron gates were positioned in 1928 during construction of what is now the Bill Struth Main Stand.

There were recorded winds of 103mph at Glasgow Airport & reports of 7 ships sunk in the Clyde.

300 homes destroyed, 70,000 damaged & 9 deaths in the city.
