Hello #PortfolioDay!
I'm Gabriel, an illustrator painting mostly OCs and occasional fanart. I take a lot of inspiration from gothic and baroque art, and I'm interested in symbols, weird literature, Christian religious iconography, and the tarot.

@Siavoshie Hey there
This piece is called 'Loyalty & Sacrifice', part of my "Dystopia" work line on FND.
It's a reflection on modern day iconography, leadership, power abuse and blind faith. Topics I find deeply uncomfortable and scary, looking into the future.

If Trails had more than 5 fans people would make threads like "um, I saw some of my friends getting into this despite the nazi iconography, it just makes me uncomfortable"
Let's start with some of the works by @Sinemylms_: a mixture of modern and classic iconography, surrounded by some interesting color choices. The selection of contrasts help to balance the backgrounds and reinforce the themes for each piece.

Gave finishing a piece on procreate another chance and I got pretty far but its still a pain. This is my take on charmander. inspirations come from mayan iconography, baby salamanders, and the sun. I added the blue because i think blue tongue skinks are cool.
A Friday #Dragonlance Did You Know.
#DDYK it takes 2 artifacts and knowledge from a god to make a Dragonlance? This is from Christian iconography, as Archangel Michael and Saint George are often portrayed wielding lances to slay Dragons!
Huma by Easley, b/w by Albrecht Durer
Today's snake themed character is Marius von Hagen from Tears of Themis! He is often presented with snake iconography, specifically an ouroboros!
Tailawa drawings I've been doing these few days. Trying to find a direction for her looks and iconography, also taking into account her lore.
