My favourite scene isn't in the film. The dogs stop at a crumbling Jacobean manor and an old man makes them buttered toast in front of the fire. He nods off and thinks they're ghosts - lovely scene and huge influence.

New in my shop: "Amaryllis" postcard. Beautiful woman, spirit of Amaryllis flower. Inspired by old botanical drawing of Amaryllis / Sprecelia Formosissima (Aztec or Jacobean lilies).

Font covers on the move. 1850s watercolor by Frederick Sandys shows a different Jacobean font cover than there is now. Current font cover is really quite fine.

Red - the witch hue

Old Mother Redcap. Archetypal English folk witch, with a long history & many homes. Jacobean Londoners told tales of her. So did folks in 1800s Derbyshire. Pubs were named after her in Sheffield & Luton, til lately. Blackburn still has one.

Day 18
My story takes place on the planet Albion and the colonies they have founded on other planets... and also on ships in space! there’s an Elizabethan/Jacobean colonial vibe and brutalist castles, glass and iron airships, and space armor just because
