Days 179 - 182. Hazelnut studies. Watercolour on different coloured matt boards.

I requested matt board samples from a company a while back and got 16 60mm sq samples. I decided to do a wee illustration on each. The surface was surprisingly easy to work on.

Day 068. Rendered maple seed pod from yesterday’s measured drawing. The pod I drew from was old and brown so I brought it back to life using The colours I matched to a different maple pod from day 062. :-)

Day 057. Rosa canina. A bit of a departure to my usual style. I experimented with a pen and ink illustration I did last year and hand coloured it using watercolour. It looks quite vintage. Not sure if I like it yet!

My last post for 2018... a super oldie but still one of my fav’s. This preying mantis was illustrated for a series of 5 handmade books as part of my Design Degree project back in the day. I still love it! Coloured pencil on paper.

Happy New Year to you all!
