Lodden was designed by and made at in 1883. It was originally block printed on cotton fabric but later sold as wallpaper and adapted for a rug. Lodden has a very large repeat, more suited for a mural than tiles.

Three beautiful pieces that I’ve had for a few days. I think the window is at Kelmscott Manor , the Cotswold retreat of William Morris.. The book is designed by Glasgow School and is Art Nouveau the Morris piece is a Lodden Tile in indigo designed and produced at Merton Abbey
