Mandrills are often called "mandrill baboons", but that's a misnomer. Mandrills are not baboons, just like how "koala bears" are not bears.

Here is a remaster of another prehistoric animal.

The Dinopithecua was a large relative of the baboon that lived 3 million years ago in what is now South Africa and may have been an extremely ferocious and savage killer. It may have also sported similar features to mandrills.
