Kakuna, much like Metapod, does an excellent job representing a pupal hymenopteran. Yellow Jackets at this stage of development freaked me out as a kid so I used to dislike Kakuna, but I’ve long since gotten over any zoological phobias. Very cool, and surprisingly menacing! 8/10

Metapod is hilarious. There’s so many ways you could make a character from a chrysalis but for the very first chrysalis Pokémon they literally just slapped some dopey eyes on it and called it a day. Absolutely no complaints, but not as cute as Caterpie. 8.5/10
