@vellicholy Monotremes are a type of mammal! A very strange type, and less related to us than any other type of mammal, but mammals nonetheless and thus more related to us than all non-mammals.
The only non-Eutheria mammals are the marsupials (Metatheria, "changed beasts") and the monotremes meaning... wait for it... "one-hole."😂

@StephCube @IanFlynnBKC Because real-life platypuses don't have tails like beavers-- their tails are more rounded and fully furred. I went for something similar to a Sonic-character-style echidna, as a nod to them both being monotremes.
