And now the Zenobia dress! This is layered, rich, stunning. Zenobia was a queen of the Palmyrene Empire in Syria who seceded from the Romans and got exiled for the rest of her life by Aurelian. The painting was done by a guy named Schmalz in 1888. Gorgeous.
