If it's a commercial, it's likely something Nelvana has done. They have a HUGE variety of styles, but often times keep them simple and don't use a lot of shadows. They get cartoony and don't shy away from the hair details on a character. Look for humans with Three Fingers.

These four late 80s/early 90s cartoons were the first signs that Nelvana was truly a force to be reckoned with when it came to animated TV shows. In some ways, I'd argue they paved the way for the studio's future TV greats like 6teen, Clone High, Delta State, and Detentionaire.
