Finished reading Kidnap Kidding.

References to early-Zaregoto and Saikyou were pretty neat. Kunagisa Jun is a great addition to the cast. The ending was quite heartwarming.

Decent volume, enjoyed it more than anything Nishio's written lately.

Saikyou V5 is a murder mystery at it's core (and a travel guide to Venice in disguise).

The narrative style used here is something Nishio has already executed in Ougimonogatari and Veiledman Hypothesis.

But it works this time exceptionally well.

This is what I mean by creating more load for the animation supervisors. Left is Layouts by Vann Oba while the right ones are the supervision by Tetsuya Nishio. The LOs were so terrible Nishio had to completely redraw them to the point you can't even tell it was Vann Oba's work.
