Following my “Novosaurus” book last year, I was recently commissioned to illustrate this little speculative roadrunner-inspired dromaeosaur.

Look what arrived today! Dinky little Novosaur pins for my Kickstarter backers!
Big thanks to who have done a fabulous job (as always) in challenging circumstances. 🙏 I love ‘em, and hope you do too! 🐓🦖

Gallus novosaurus ceratocemani: a magnificently goth novosaur. Also looks rather good on a mug. 🦖🐓

“Exhibiting intelligence similar to that of a five year old child, this breed of Novosaur raises some complex questions about the ethics of keeping such intelligent animals as pets...”

Novosaurus Apteryx parvinykus: one of the new species from the Novosaurs book, which will be published in March 2020.
Apteryx parvinykus is shy, 70cm long and insectivorous. It also exhibits exceptional levels of intelligence - as do many varieties of Novosaur.

Beneath the feathers.
Skeletal diagram of a Novosaur, exhibiting the characteristics of a modern chicken, with re-awakened prehistoric traits.

Floofy dinobirb.
Despite their cuddly appearance, this breed’s large size and temperamental nature means that they need to be handled with exteme caution. A good hairdryer also helps.

The Novosaurs book, full of these creatures, can be preordered here: https://t.co/rbffOn1j9q

Novosaur embryo. Another quick iPad scribble. And now bed.... a big day tomorrow. 🐓🦖

Two things to share with you all tonight.
First the perhaps unsurprising revelation that cracked ribs really (really) hurt.
Second a very quick and very (very!) rough little painting of an even quicker Novosaur that I’ve done whilst trying to find a way to sit comfortably 🙄
