Following my “Novosaurus” book last year, I was recently commissioned to illustrate this little speculative roadrunner-inspired dromaeosaur. #FossilFriday #commissionsopen
Just received this lovely review of my Novosaurs book. Huge thanks to everyone who takes the time to leave a review. I can promise you it really does make a difference.
If you’d like to buy this book (or any of my others) please see my pinned tweet. 🙂
NOVOSAURS: PRE-ORDERS NOW OPEN!
(A little thread).
The Novosaurs book is nearing completion, ready for printing late in February and shipping in March. If you missed the Kickstarter, I am now taking pre-orders for the book in my Etsy shop.
First though, here’s the front cover.
So it seems today is #PortfolioDay
I’m Andy and am responsible for a menagerie of small, fuzzy Welsh Dragons and feathery Dino-birds. My next book, “Novosaurs” arrives this spring.

“Exhibiting intelligence similar to that of a five year old child, this breed of Novosaur raises some complex questions about the ethics of keeping such intelligent animals as pets...”
Beneath the feathers.
Skeletal diagram of a Novosaur, exhibiting the characteristics of a modern chicken, with re-awakened prehistoric traits.
Floofy dinobirb.
Despite their cuddly appearance, this breed’s large size and temperamental nature means that they need to be handled with exteme caution. A good hairdryer also helps.
The Novosaurs book, full of these creatures, can be preordered here: https://t.co/rbffOn1j9q
A quick sketch of a featherless #Novosaur. Bred specifically for warm climates and movie tie-ins. Check out @DragonsofWales work to find out about these speculative future dinosaurs, and support the book here https://t.co/wU4cdLvSxn
Novosaur embryo. Another quick iPad scribble. And now bed.... a big day tomorrow. 🐓🦖
Two things to share with you all tonight.
First the perhaps unsurprising revelation that cracked ribs really (really) hurt.
Second a very quick and very (very!) rough little painting of an even quicker Novosaur that I’ve done whilst trying to find a way to sit comfortably 🙄
