wanted to draw all the mp100 characters "prehistoric animal" sonas but "nyctosaurus teru" was the only one i could think of. yes this was a real animal.
Nyctosaurus, Stegodon and a jerboa with a chainsaw.
yes, it's concerning how decent the chainsaw and blood look I know I promise I didn't murder anyone with chainsaws
Nyctosaurus is a genus of pterodactyloid pterosaurs that lived during the Late Cretaceous in North America. It is famous for its ridiculously weird crest. This is the approximate size of an adult Nyctosaurus
This is a spot illustration for my licensing library
A Nyctosaurus with some speculative pycnofibers #dinosaur #pterosaur #digitalart #ArtistOnTwitter
Nyctosaurus
A small pterodactyloid with a surprisingly long antler like crest, it likely flew for very long distances without flapping, even losing its non flight fingers
ALT: At some point Marsh tough that the name was preoccupied and renamed it nyctodactylus, he was wrong
Some sketches from yesterday’s Flocking together #paleostream . I’m pretty proud of how these two came out (The species are Yuanchuavis and Nyctosaurus)
My first #paleostream #FlockingTogether
Was really fun taking part
Animals drawn were: Yuanchuavis, Nyctosaurus, Sigilmassasaurus and Thylacoleo
I painted this Nyctosaurus headshot over @JaimeHeadden's skeletal of the pterosaur. I was undecided on the sail vs no sail debate at the time, and knew I wanted *some* surface area for something flashy so I went for a compromise, educated or not Digital painting (Photoshop), 2017
@anatotitan Oh, you have a Tylosaur riding a rogue wave while a Nyctosaurus flies nearby? There’s a timespan of several million years for that to have occurred, and over that time, it probably happened almost exactly like you drew it at least once
Chaoyangopterus
Its classification history has been complicated, it was believed be closely related to nyctosaurus and more recently to azhdarchids but in its own group
ALT: named after a city on china, known as a "fossil city" for its many important paleontological discoveries
These designs are based on a combination of various seabirds and pterosaurs - red-footed boobies, magnificent frigatebirds, Ornithocheirus, and Nyctosaurus - with a pirate motif all around. Maraupen is also based on the Ropen, a pterosaur-like cryptid from Papua New Guinea.
Here Are 8 Creatures I’d Love To See In JWD.

Plesiosaurus, Dimetrodon, Nyctosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus https://t.co/2f2Tvn7efW
Today is another odd pterasaur with Nyctosaurus, a hand-less pterasaur with a massive crest.

Because it is #PterosaurPtuesday my warmup sketch for today is a group of Nyctosaurus. Showing possible sexual dimorphism in the bizarre crest of this species. Nyctosaurus is definitely among the most interesting #pterosaurs #paleoart #sciart
@Pachycephosaur Austroraptors, parasaurolophus, and Nyctosaurus are some of my favorites 8^
