@diidymoii He’s an Opabinia lover… not really a bug but like. It’s buglike enough to count I think

@DeltaGod77 I present you a challenge - Opabinia: a small prehistoric shrimp like creature from the Cambrian.
An exciting new Welsh fossil discovery from two of our Honorary Research Fellows for #FossilFriday! 460 million year old Mieridduryn bonniae may be the youngest Opabinia-like animal ever found by over 40 million years, and the first from outside N America https://t.co/YzNxcK5u00
A new Opabinia relative has been discovered but this time in the Ordovician! Mieridduryn was found in Wales with soft tissues preserved. Its name means "bramble-snout."

Day 4 of #Paleoctober2022: Opabinia
Designed in the style of Cowichan tribal art to honour the First Nation people who live where Opabinia was found: British Columbia
@markmcconville If you get add in extinct fauna you also get some greats like Ornithomimus, Oviraptor, and Opabinia, which makes the case even stronger!

Shedding a tear for the animals that left us too soon </3 forever in my heart Opabinia. Shimp.
Robin the FREAKING OPABINIA FURSONA for @sunflowerwingz !!!
For my 16th birthday I figured I would remake the second piece I ever posted to DeviantArt.
Four Cambrian critters: Opabinia, Hallucigenia, Pikaia and Haikouichthys.
New version on the left, old one on the right.
Okay. One of the invert pieces I have done is outdated (Opabinia), one is VERY inaccurate (Titanokorys but it's okay) and the other is unfinished (Eromangateuthis) but it's alright. Gotta make more!
I am not a very good artist but I made an attempt at a drawing of opabinia. #paleoart
I never knew Opabinia was only 3 inches long... I thought it was one of those mega arthropods like Jaekelopterus or at least Anomalocaris... I could hold it gently in the palm of my hand...
