Joyful happy paintings now to lighten my timeline and our morning. These by Simeon Stafford and in the photograph of him I’ve seen he’s as happy as his paintings . He was born in a Pennine village and introduced early in his life to LS Lowry after winning a school prize for art

Two new paintings inspired from recent walks around Saddleworth and Oldham. Elevated long views are worth climbing those Pennine hills.

Went for a meal out today up in the Pennines by where I live.
Weather was dramatic. Beaufort 7 wind with hail/snow.

It made me to make this little Pennine inspired location.

A painting from summer; part of the Pennine Way just outside of Haworth on the way to the Brontë Falls and Top Withins. There’s lots I like about it, but areas I know can be improved. Progression not perfection however!

''Across the Pennines, there's a thin blue line, a knife and a mall
I would do something if it wasn't all so effortful
'Cause I'm so high, my brain can't even look at the fall
And when you've reached the top, there's nowhere else to go but-''
(this song fits chris so well tbh-)
