My final illustration for the book cover to "The Bloomsbury Handbook of Plato". Platonic solids in the sky, Socrates and Phaedrus in discussion, with the swan, a symbol of Plato taking flight.
What an honor this was to do!🥰🥰

Elysium: actually represents my frustration and desire to just abandon my problems.

Alcherion: represents my goals to be something bigger than myself

Phaedrus: represents my desire to want to be hidden away, secretly living where no one can affect me negatively

Per Plato’s Phaedrus, cicadas were once humans who lived before the muses. When the muses were born, these humans took such delight in singing they forgot to eat or drink. Thus the cicada was born—as a gift from the muses they sign without need of nourishment.
