I've been researching the types of armour that would make the visual difference between friend and foe in a medieval European-style world. I thought platemail was functionally superior to chainmail or scaled armour, but it may depend on the situation.

Nice chain mail. My armor has an entire platemail blind infant twin molded onto it and extra arms to cradle it, but your coif of interlinked steel rings is cool too I guess
