I couldn't pull up pictures from the story earlier, but here's two, plus a full-page spread of the 2nd.

Basically, male Dilophosaurus kills Plesiosaur, a rival male & female drive him away from his kill...then a volcano erupts & kills the couple while the loner barely survives.

As much as I'd love a spec-evo plesiosaur, I'm glad that the Piranhadon concept they ended up with was the one we got, because my god, what an impressive creature. So well designed & animated.
