The main chapters cover ‘lesser known’ marine reptile groups, then the geologically longer-lived #ichthyosaurs, the diverse and often long-necked #plesiosaurs, those phenomenal giant lizards the #mosasaurs and, finally, the sea #turtles... (images by Brian Choo)
First drawing of the year and one of the biggest plesiosaurs to have ever swam the oceans, here's my take on the Elasmosaurus and I hope you guys like it. Also I had to make a quick change to the drawing so there's a sight edit #paleontology, #paleoart, #GraphicNovel, #marinelife
-, plesiosaurs, and even fellow mosasaurs like Platecarpus and Plioplatecarpus! The only thing a Tylosaurus would've feared was another Tylosaurus, as the specimen FHSM VP-2295 had signs of injury that indicated it was killed by a larger Tylosaurus! (2/2)

are chondrichthyes, some are plesiosaurs and some are pterosaurs. Sharpteeth are the major background force in the Land Before Time that drive both the plot and the setting: a major aspect of any location in the series is whether there’s a possibility of running into sharpteeth
This new plesiosaur (Serpentisuchops pfisterae) is incredibly cool. It reminds me of those old paleoart depictions of plesiosaurs in the 1800's where they would make them look like weird swan/duck/dolphin things.
Diving with Serpentisuchops! :B Long necked, long snouted plesiosaur up to 7 m long? Had to doodle it! :B It was a polycotylid, part of a group of long, slender snoted plesiosaurs that usually had shorter necks. I love it cause it looks like a sort of whimsical sea serpent thing.
@RickRaptor105 @RaptorX863 @JoschuaKnuppe I feel sorry for the plesiosaurs 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
Plesiosaurs swam alongside Spinosaurus. A recent study looked at the freshwater plesiosaurs of the Kem Kem Group @UniofBath. Our blog has more: https://t.co/Bq3bg1Z7w8 @Everything_Dino #plesiosaurs #spinosaurusaegyptiacus #EverythingDinosaur
Small plesiosaurs lived in the rivers of the mid-Cretaceous Kem Kem group of Morocco. They were part of a freshwater fauna that included frogs, salamanders, lungfish, turtles, crocodilians - and the giant aquatic dinosaur Spinosaurus. https://t.co/zIHxJOrvf7
What's up with anime's love affair with plesiosaurs?
1) Time Patrol Bon
2) Doraemon
3) Yu-Gi-Oh!
4) One Piece
Sharks and plesiosaurs. Nobody thinks of exposed or partially exposed teeth when we talk about THOSE 🤔😉 also Microcleidus still has a mouth from hell heeheheeee https://t.co/lOkn4b4EC4
@Uminokokorororo SeaHorse,
Also,
Short-necked plesiosaurs are pretty cute. 💙
The neck flexibility in our elasmosaurs reflects recent work showing that the neck (which was stout and muscular, not floppy and noodle-like) was highly flexible -- NOT stiff! Studies: Zammit et al., Nagesan et al... #plesiosaurs
Early Jurassic plesiosaurs are the best. Don't @ me bish

Taking a little break from the Dominion drawings. Here’s a plesiosaurs based off that old Jurassic Park metal die cast figure. I also have some paleo art lined up for you guys.
Cetaceans, as well as in preserved skin from other marine reptiles. The soft tissue impressions also show an edge of tissue at the end of plesiosaur flippers. This trailing edge served a hydrodynamic purpose and ergo was likely present on all plesiosaurs. Img: @MarkWitton (9/?)
Want a signed #paleoart print AND to help save the UK's only gull sanctuary? Head to the @charitybirdaid FB page to bid on my prints: all proceeds go to charity. Starting bids are £5 for each print. Theropods, pterosaurs, plesiosaurs and more up for sale! https://t.co/6jEXZ4VwVM
