A nude male figure, whose head and physique call to mind Bacon's former lover, George Dyer, is seen kneeling on a plinth. Another limb possibly from another figure can also be identified.

Here’s another illustration for , commemorating Guernsey witches. Many old houses on the island feature a stone plinth or ‘witches seat’, said to provide a place of rest for passing witches, thus appeasing any ill intent!
