The Czech Noonwraith is an old, ugly and emaciated old woman who is dressed in white, sometimes she also has a hood. Often leaning on a stick. At noon, she roams forests and fields. She punishes those who do not observe the noon peace.

Polednice is the Czech word for Lady Midday, Noon Witch, and Noonwraith. She comes to punish disobedient children who are not at home for lunch and prayer.

People who labor outside should avoid conversation with Lady Midday (or Polednice). Appearing from a cloud of dust at the hottest part of the day, she causes heatstroke and madness. Beware--if you can't answer her questions, she may cut off your head!
