‘Birds are messengers-early warning that something is wrong with the marine ecosystem’
For #worldoceansday, a little ode to the seabirds who are an important part of the ecological web of marine life.
#seabirds #paintings:
Skipping the great sea (Greater Shearwater)
Puffin Dance (Atlantic Puffin)
Swimming Together (Razorbills)
Pelican Free (Brown pelican)
A little #seabirdsaturday love for Razorbills. This seabird is in the auk family and lives in the northern Atlantic. They are sleek black with white bellies, but when they open their mouth, it's a surprise color - Can you guess what color it is?
#painting: Swimming Together
Razorbills in Flight, a study page on grey paper painted from life in the field, 55 x 45cm framed, 38 x 28 cm unframed. The price on the wall is £860 but, today only, I am offering it for £640 framed or £500 unframed with free delivery in the UK/EU. First to message secures it
Watercolour field study of razorbills in flight. Working on grey base because the glare from white paper is too bright to see. The seabird colonies quietening off as summer ends and the chicks depart.
