One thing I learned from Genndy Tartakovsky is that everything is based on a shape. That helped my character design ability greatly.

When I look at these, over the years I always notice some strengths and weaknesses. The characters of Niji The Phoenix have stronger designs but the backgrounds are weaker, while the characters of Rizomar have weaker designs but the backgrounds are stronger.
