Shellycoat is a type of Brownie from Anglo-Scottish Borders folklore, that inhabits rivers and other water bodies. It's name, from the coat of shells it wears. It's relatively harmless unless humans trespass on it's territory

Shellycoat:
A water spirit that haunts rivers & streams in Scotland. Their name comes from the coat of shells they wear & are considered harmless creatures. If they think you're trespassing, they will scream out as if they were drowning & then laugh at your fear 🖤

The most notible feature of a Shellycoat is, of course, thier coat of fur adorned with shells that jangle & clatter when they move. Shellycoats are thought to be relatively harmless despite playing cruel pranks on humans who wander into their territory. ⤵
