It's not brought up much in modern entries, but Terry does actually have a pet monkey named "Ukee" [who used to be SNK's mascot before Terry was]. Here he is with Terry in KoF 1999.

so Terry actually likes more than just fighting. In fact, one of his favorite pastimes is actually playing basketball. He even based one of his moves off of it [Power Dunk for those who're wondering].

So believe it or not, Fatal Fury's creator Takashi Nishiyama also made Street Fighter 1; and that character on the title screen was originally meant to be the protag, not Ryu. He was later repurposed as the funny hat man we all know and love in 1991.
