Marie Spartali landscapes for today’s post. ‘The Old Barn, Arreton, Isle of Wight’ went to auction @bonhams1793 yesterday, we hope a public gallery bought it.
In our latest @PreRaphPodcast; @HannahRSquire and @ArtforAllbyAll discuss the lack of women artists work in museums.

@ruth_millington @Words_by_Sophie @Pegasus_Books @SquarePegBooks @MANMWA2 @KatyHessel @SabhbhC My five Pre-Raphaelite muses are Jane Morris, Elizabeth Siddal, Christina Rossetti, Maria Zambaco and Marie Spartali Stillman. They were models and muses, collaborators, artists, writers and poets. (I was going to say Fanny Eaton but wonderfully she has already been chosen).
We have just started an Instagram page, so please go and follow us! We are celebrating with a #SelfieSunday. Marie Spartali Stillman, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Elizabeth Eleanor Siddal and John Everett Millais, all obliged us with self-portraits, using their own filters, naturally.
A last celestial offering of St Cecilias for this week's #ThursdayTheme: by J.M.Cameron, Marie Spartali Stillman, Edward Reginald Frampton & Kate Bunce.

Marie Spartali Stillman (front left), model & muse to Rossetti, was an accomplished Pre-Raphaelite artist in her own right. Studying under Ford Madox Brown, she produced over 150 paintings, exhibiting both in England & the US.
