For the black hair, try to make it more blue and not completely grey, it makes it look bland. Also, you can add more definition to the hair by making the shading of the hair a bit sharper at the end and blend your way down then add more shadows that go on the edge of each strand-

I repainted his hair and cheek/jaw because his head shape looked wrong, and his hair was too strand-y. I’m a lot happier with this! Also I (temporarily) removed the other person to use it as an icon.
