A fine period cutaway of the Vickers Supermarine Scapa flying boat.
The work of R.J. Mitchell (of Spitfire fame), the RR Kestrel powered Scapa had a limited production run and short service life, soon being replaced by the more powerful Stranraer, in early 1939.
Another great day of birding with a lifer of White-fronted Goose at Loch Ken. Seawatch from Stranraer produced a Merlin, Red-throated Diver, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers and 8 Goldeneye. Also a big raft of ducks any ideas what they are? Maybe Eiders? Sorry for bad pics
#CFT Festival of the Sea in #Glasgows #Briggait is the day after tomorrow! Be there or be square. 11am -how exciting! On Sunday we’re at the #Stranraer oyster festival. All that & a solo exhibition! Shake a leg, show your face & we’ll see you there!
