Oh for fucks’ sake I’m tired of subversions already, from Frozen to Encanto it’s either been “surprise I’m evil now!” or “the true bad guy was our conflict.”

Why can’t Disney have straight-forward badass villains again?

I might sound boomer-ish but I’m really starting to miss genuine straight-forward over the top Disney villains who were blatantly evil by appearance, voice and personality.

No subtly, they were clearly the main antagonist from beginning to end.

I’m tired of subversions.

Really well made subversions or deconstructions of the stereotypical anime tropes like Kill la Kill or Magica Madaoka can be REALLY GOOD but they're incredibly rare.
