Still putting in daily updates into my surgical illustration side project. Today I got the first suture into the shot, for the posterior wall anastomosis for a piggyback liver transplant.

And final colour! 9 days from pencil sketch to this, each day was anywhere from 1-3 hrs. Gotta say I really enjoyed this! Which is good because the story has just begun! Haha! Stay tuned for chapter 2...

Stage 1 colour. I’m using a colourization technique I learned from Dave Mazierski and Andrew Swift, which is to use color transfer mode layers in Photoshop over the tonal rendering.
