William Turnbull (1922-2012)
Scottish sculptor & painter. After serving as an RAF pilot during WWII, he studied at the Slade alongside Paolozzi. He then moved to Paris, meeting artists such as Brancusi & Giacometti. ‘Mask’, 1955-56.

British painter, printmaker & designer. An official WWII war artist, his depictions of bomb-damaged churches and landmarks, most notably Coventry Cathedral, made him a household name. Pistyll Maes-Glasau, 1940.
