Josep Tapiró i Baró (1836-1913) was a Catalan artist who specialized in extremely detailed watercolor portraits. In 1871 he visited Morocco for the first time. His best known works are the beautiful portraits he painted of people he encountered there.
Siempre me han fascinado las acuarelas de José Tapiró y Baró.
Su camino vital y artístico está ligado a Fortuny, mas Tapiró resuelve sus obras de una forma más realista. No se puede cuestionar su capacidad técnica.
