Theramenes was an Athenian guy who was sentenced to commit suicide via hemlock without a proper trial by his former friend Critias who was one of the 30 tyrants of athens. He toasted "to the beautiful Critias" when drinking the poison like the absolute legend he was.

Really nice work, I love her! While I prefer her design now, the NES one is still great! It looks like it played more with the Athenian aesthetic.
