I’m so depressed but anyways look at this animal it’s called the thylacosmilus it’s a marsupial from South America. It became extinct after the land connection between North and South America was established during the middle of the Pliocene Epoch (about 10-3 million years ago)

Thylacosmilus, an extinct marsupial that looks like a sabertooth cat but isn’t, and had these weird bony tooth sheaths. I modeled the features on this one after quolls and Tasmanian devils to make it less cat-like.

Today I learned of existence of Thylacosmilus because we found a Japanese plush of one in a Telegram chat. I thought it was just weird facial skin NOPE IT'S THE SKULL
