Truthfully? While I like the direction taken, something about the previous iteration hit just right and it feels hard to call the new one an improvement--when it still very much is.
I think it may be the face change? Unsure.

I watched Demon Slayer for the first time this evening.

Truthfully, this was a little too graphic and heavy for me to fully enjoy and not my kind of anime.

However, I still think this is good and I can appreciate why the show is beloved.^^
