This week's #TsarinaSaturday is one of my favorites, the 1870-80 court dress of Maria Feodorovna (although only a grand duchess at the time). It really is a fairy tale princess dress! Here is a portrait of her in a similar garment. @state_hermitage #fashionhistory
This week's #TsarinaSaturday is this 1890s visiting dress. It has the era's characteristic gigot sleeves, high neck collar, and prominent S line silhouette. In the other picture, you can see her wearing a very similar outfit #FashionHistory
This week's late #TsarinaSaturday is this 1898-99 maternity dress. It was worn when Alexandra Feodorovna was pregnant with Maria Nicolaevna, her third daughter. This dress also has the exact same colors as my childhood bedroom! #fashionhistory
This week's #TsarinaSaturday is Maria Feodorovna's 1893 visiting dress from the House of Morin-Blossier. It was founded by two sisters who went on design dresses for a number or Queens and Princesses, including fashion icons Maud of Wales and Mrs. Vanderbilt. #FashionHistory
