2TP was carried out by some of the most skilled craftsmen of the period such as Nathaniel Hitch. His talent is represented not only through the larger works he did but notably for the smaller features like this mermaid carved into the benches.

Our beautiful timber hammerbeam roof takes inspiration from Medieval and Tudor houses. Amongst the panelling we see blank areas of Portland stone that are at each end of the room used to emphasise the intensity of surface and decoration.

We see here the elaborate doorway in the Great Hall with its silver gilt relief figures of nine Arthurian women designed by George Fampton. The whole door seems a powerful tribute to these women with each figure is in its own decorated arched enclosure.
