281. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Enjoyed the story and the comic book cutscenes, not so much the episodic gameplay. Still, I'm glad I played it on my way through keeping up to date on the MGS series. Interesting mental conflict to root for the terrorist protag.

283. Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose

This was my childhood. Loved this show and loved the game, too, although it got pretty tough pretty fast. That train level! What I enjoyed most was seeing the full cast of characters. Not the best game but fond memories

287. Tower of Heaven

I don't often play free flash games but when I do it's Tower of Heaven and I enjoy the experience. Climb a tower whilst obeying arbitrary commands. Great Game Boy aesthetic and music. Play it here:

289. Dr. Mario

The Tetris-like that earned my unreciprocated love because I could never excel at it like I could with the former once upon a time. Still, I enjoy playing it. The concept is endearing and the music is chill ;)

Fever is the better track, tho.

292. Broken Age

A dose of Double Fine which I played upon recommendation after finishing Grim Fandango. Pretty funny and clever, well-acted, and just about what you'd expect. The modern point-and-click experience isn't what it used to be in a pre-internet age tho.

294. Virtual-On: Oratorio Tangram

I have hazy memories of playing Virtual-On in a giant arcade cabinet with seats mounted in it, but it wasn't until recently that I got to revisit the series thanks to the Dreamcast and I can confirm that I still love me some mechs

296. Grow Home

I'm afraid of heights. Heck, I'm afraid of stairs but controlling a robot that's growing a huge plant stalk up out of the atmosphere was immensely satisfying for some reason. Fun physics and a simple concept, I like.

298. Comix Zone

Out of all the rad retro brawlers back in the day, Comix Zone is one of the raddest, from its rebellious spelling of "comics" but with an "x" to the stylish graphic novel framing of the gameplay. But idk if I've ever beaten it, actually.

323. Cadillacs and Dinosaurs

A title that time nearly forgot (which I recently re-enjoyed via MAME), this somewhat samey beat 'em up benefits from some sensationalism thanks to its larger than life dinos. Hopefully someday it'll get a port rather than go extinct.

324. X-Men Mutant Apocalypse

There's a lot of X-Men games in the world but I spent a chunk of time battling through this one. Good times! Why does this particular one land on my list? Glad you asked. It's because of a certain character whose initials are PSYLOCKE.

328. Spider-Man

Maybe not the best Spidey game on SNES, though the competition isn't too tough, it's based on the Animated Series from the 90s which I adored. Loved the many bosses and levels so I put up with the controls. Also... Master Chief?

332. Forager

When I played this at launch on Switch, I thought there wasn't quite enough content (later updates amended that quickly) but what was there was everything I play this sort of game for, in its purest form: drown me in crafting and foraging!

335. Super Smash T.V.

Go! Go! Go! I only gave Super Smash T.V. a chance recently and ended up thinking it was awesome. The gameplay is fast-paced and addicting. This game is hard but I'd buy that for a dollar!

336. Cowboy Bebop

THE REAL FOOOOOOLK BLUES!! I've yet to play the PS2 brawler, Tsuioku no Serenade, but this PS1 flying shooter helped sate my constant pining for my favorite anime. Wish I could understand what the characters were saying. It's got a weird story...

337. Armored Warriors

Powered Gear in JP is a really unique arcade side-scrolling beat 'em up featuring giant mechs and I only got to play it thanks to the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle (highly recommended). Because it's 90s Capcom, the art and gameplay are gorgeous.

348. Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara

I was more into Japanese D&D, aka Final Fantasy, but I'm a sucker for a good beat 'em up and Mystara fills that role powerfully. It helps that there's a bit more to it with some RPG qualities. Thief or Magic-u all day!

354. Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six

LJN again! As far as their NES games go, this one is not great but that's why this is a list of favorites and not *necessarily* quality titles. However, I loved the boss fights & the music kicks, despite jank controls!

355. King's Knight

One of the most unique scrolling shooters I've ever played, I enjoyed how it combined what was typically spacey lasery gameplay with my bread and butter: high fantasy swords and sorcery stuff. Don't underestimate early Square!
