I'm looking into naming systems to create a medieval Scandinavian-like worldview, but it seems that customary is to take the most recent father's or mother's name instead of the surname. In my game's protagonist, her father is Dagfin, so she's Freyja Dagfinndotter (~'s daughter).
The sheer contrast between the two lore drops.
One is in pure cynicism, while the other is the opposite.
One has a shattered view, the other still having faith.
