Alexander is a Tliltocatl vagans, formerly Brachypelma before the genus got split in two. his family is found in the Yucatán peninsula, and in Florida! As sad as it is, the Ch'ol Maya crush these cuties up for their traditional medicine 😭

Mija is an Avicularia purpurea, the goth cousin of the punk pinktoe with the fingerless gloves. They're new world arborials in the far west of the amazon. These beauties are great beginner pets as they are visible, docile and gorgeous!

This witch spider is a great raft spider (Dolomedes plantarius), a spider which floats through fens to hunt aquatic life. As part of the nursery web spiders, these these spiders only use their webs just to carry their nursery around.

I am a Theraphosa blondi, the largest spider in the world by every metric but leg span. Despite the name 'goliath birdeater', birds aren't part of their regular diet. Their urticating hairs are the most painful and dangerous of any tarantula.

Vanilla is a Monocentropus balfouri (Socotra blue baboon), a popular tarantula in the hobby, especially for communal habitats. They live in the wild on the island of Socotra in the Arabian sea.
Their pattern looks like that of Siamese cats.
