X/1999 by CLAMP is exquisite in it's examination of duality, to save or to condemn, to fight against fate or to accept it as it is, to kill or not to kill.
Duality informs a lot of the story in this manga, but the characters who are caught up within this make up the story(1/?)

X/1999 actually first started running as single-issue floppies 1995. Later in 95, it ran for a brief time off and on in the regular Animerica magazine BEFORE being transferred over to Animerica Extra.

X/1999 was the other half of that. Because I was already primed to be angsty and brooding, the Dragons of Earth's creed really resonated with me. It's really, deeply embarrassing now, looking back. But I was a very troubled teen lol
